ChatKid is a friendly AI-powered chatbot designed for young kids to explore artificial intelligence (AI) chat bots with their parents or guardians. Kids aged 13 or under should have the permission of a parent or guardian to use ChatKid.
The ChatKid site was built by Walter Carl (dad) and Brennan Carl (son). We wanted to be able to explore AI in a fun and safe way so that we could learn about it together. We hope you enjoy ChatKid!
ChatKid uses natural language processing to understand questions and provide appropriate answers. It's designed to be easy and intuitive for kids and their parents, guardians, and teachers to use. It's powered by OpenAI's Large Language Models (LLMs) and built on a software platform called Replit from a template provided by a Replit community member.
We don't know. We take security and privacy seriously and a key purpose of this site is for both parents and their kids to play with AI chat bots to see if and how they are safe for kids to use. Currently we do not log or monitor the conversations you have on ChatKid. Please see OpenAI's policy for how they handle any data submitted via their API. Key things to know are that they do not use data provided to their API to train new AI models and they delete the data after 30 days. But with any internet site or app you should always be careful about any information you provide. Also, AI chat bots are known to make things up that are not true so you should always double-check what it tells you and use your best judgment. The creators of this site are not responsible for anything the bot may or may not say. This site is for educational purposes and your use of the site is at your own risk.
It's pretty incredible all the things that chat bots powered by Large Language Models can do. Coding is one of them. Feel free to ask ChatKid any questions about coding to see how it works.
Absolutely! We're always working to improve ChatKid and make it a better experience for our users. You can suggest new features or improvements by contacting Walter. But this is just a hobby for us so we might not be able to honor all requests (or even know how to!) so please be patient.
